Overview

Your Blogs page houses your storefront's blog, latest news, or press releases.

Blog posts are housed within your Blog, rather than being interchangable terms for one another; to learn more about how these are different, click here to read the Shopify help pages on blogs.

This guide is focused on Blogs. To instead learn about your individual Blog posts pages, please read our guide below:

Steps

  1. Within your Shopify admin, go to Sales Channels > Online Store > Themes.

  2. Click your theme, and select Customize.

  3. Go to the drop-down menu at the top of the page.

  4. Scroll down to select Blog.

Adding a Blog

While your theme dictates how your blog is visually presented, your Blog and Blog posts are managed within your Shopify admin area under Sales Channels > Blog posts.

You can create a new blog by going to Manage blogs > Add blog.

Assigning Blog Posts to a Blog

To assign an existing blog post to a different blog, select the blog post and scroll to Organization.

Use the Blog drop-down menu to reassign the blog post to a blog of your choice.

Layout

Use the Layout drop-down menu to choose whether your blog page is set out as a List or a Grid.

If you choose a value which is lower than the amount of posts your blog contains, page numbers and Next & Previous buttons will appear at the bottom of the page.

List

By selecting List, your customers will be able to view your blog posts as a list as they scroll down the page.

By selecting Grid, your customers will be able to view your blog posts in a grid format on your blog page.

Posts Per Page

You can control how many products appear on your blog page, with a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 12.

To select a number, simply use the Products per page slider.

Show Author Name

If you would like the name of the blog post author to appear underneath the article title, select Show author name.

Show Dates

If you would like the date that the blog post was published to appear underneath the article title, select Show dates.

Sidebar Image

Under Sidebar, you can add an image to the sidebar on the left-hand side of your blog page by clicking Select image.

Upload a new image, or select a pre-existing image from your Library or Shopify's Free Images.

Sidebar Link

Under Sidebar, you can link your sidebar image to another page within your store by clicking on the Link entry field and selecting an option from the menu. Alternatively, you can paste in a URL of your choice.

Sidebar Heading & Description

While neither are required fields, you can choose to add a Heading and a Description to your sidebar by typing them into the entry fields under Sidebar.

The Heading can only feature plain text, and therefore can't include any bold or italic text. The Text can be formatted as bold, italic, or linked text.

Show Tags

By selecting Show tags, your article tags will be displayed on your blog page.

Show Latest Articles

By selecting Show latest articles, your recent blog posts will appear on your blog page to encourage your customers to read your store's latest updates.
